Fourteen pupils go to the IAPS Athletics National Finals
We were delighted that fourteen children qualified for the National Prep Schools Championships, which took place in Birmingham.
We returned with 3 medals - 2nd place in the U12 High jump - Ignacio B, 2nd place in the U12 Javelin - Bella T and a National Champion in the U14 High Jump - Tim K. All of our athletes competed well and were a real credit to the school.

Hazlegrove pupils go to National Finals of the Maths Team Challenge
Last term Flora R and Jill L (Year 8) joined up with two Year 9 mathematicians from King’s Bruton (William T and Charlie A) to compete in the Regional Finals of the Maths Team Challenge held at Millfield. They won this competition convincingly which meant they were then invited to attend the National Finals held in London at the Lawrence Hall in the Royal Horticultural Centre, on Monday the 21st of June. There they meet up with the regional winners from all around England.

Year 8 production of West Side Story
What a treat to see our Year 8 pupils producing such a wonderful version of West-Side Story. To put together a musical from scratch in two weeks is a mammoth and daunting undertaking, but they achieved it superbly!

Hazlegrove pupils meet Chris Evans and help Children in Need
Year 8 pupils at Hazlegrove were thrilled to meet Chris Evans, BBC Radio DJ, when he visited Haynes Motor Museum with his fleet of seven Ferraris in aid of Children in Need. They presented Chris with a cheque for £351.54 which they had generated through the Hazlegrove Young Enterprise Scheme – a post-exam project which has seen the children working in teams towards bring their business ideas to reality.

The horse riders have had a busy term...
The horse riders have had a busy term. Many after-school sessions with Miss Andrews have been enjoyed by those children lucky enough to have their own ponies. Highlights of the term include going to the Stonar Inter-school ODE, the Blackmore and Sparkford Vale PC JAS (Jumping And Style) competition, cross-country schooling at Toomer Farm and a fun day at Sparkford to finish off the term.
