Boarding

A whole host of activities were on offer for the boarders this weekend as we enjoyed the grounds and facilities on site.

After a hearty breakfast, the day began with our traditional letter writing. Having had such a busy and exciting Festival of Wellbeing, everyone had lots of news to share with their families. For the rest of the morning, the adventure playground and woods were a hive of activity, with many competitive games of manhunt sprawling through the woods and a particularly tactical round of capture the flag. Inspired by our Festival dance, many children took the opportunity to boogie and shimmy with a spot of ‘Just Dance’, which turned into a nearly all day marathon for some, who just kept going back for more!

Smells of white chocolate chip muffins drifted across the Fitzjames Courtyard as Mr Holden’s cookery challenge took off, whilst other children chose to take a dip in the pool or explore the grounds with a photography contest. There were also ample opportunities for everyone to build and perfect their Easter bonnets in anticipation of the Boarders’ Easter Feast next weekend – there’s definitely going to be some tough competition this year – watch this space!

Or for those who just wanted to chill, Miss Milne’s classroom was transformed into a hygee haven. A scrumptious lamb roast dinner was cooked up for us all to enjoy by our outstanding catering team, then everyone settled down with ‘delumptious popcorn’ curled up with blankets, pillows and cushions to watch the BFG for our afternoon film – a ‘whoopsy, whilffling’ time was had by all!

Our day was brought to a close when Mr Farquhar led is in a very thought provoking chapel and left us with this powerful message.
