U13 girls are crowned County Cricket Champions

Congratulations to our girls cricket team who were crowned Somerset County Indoor Cricket Champions yesterday after an exciting afternoon of matches at the County ground.

In the first match we came up against a good Writhlington side but after a good win that set up a final with Millfield. Hazlegrove were very much the underdogs but really rose to the occasion and after a brilliant display of both fielding and bowling we had restrict Millfield to a score of 66. Our top order batters got us off to a good start and the runs steadily started to flow. The tense atmosphere continued throughout but we managed to reach the necessary 67 with an over to spare.

Very well done girls and we you luck for the next round of this Lady Taverners competition which takes place on 26th April at the University of Bristol.
