Boarders join the Baker family charity run for the Child Bereavement Trust

Well what a weekend we've had at Hazlegrove. On Saturday evening we had an amazing barbecue cooked by Joe and his team. We are so fortunate to have such talented chefs who produce outstanding food on a regular basis. We then descended into boarding houses for our Saturday night entertainment with The Jungle Book being a favourite.

After breakfast we all went to chapel. Mr Beverly always produces a simple but very effective message. He talked to us about having the ability to listen to God and how important it is to do this. It was then time to head off to Ditcheat  to participate in the Baker Family charity fun run in aid of the Child Bereavement Trust.

After an entertaining but exhausting warm-up led by Mrs Arnold we set off for our one mile adventure. Ignacio, Jaime and Abdullah were the fastest on the day. They each received special rosettes for doing so well. Others took a more leisurely approach and had fun picking blackberries along the way.

Once the physical exertion was over we were ready for lunch. We found a shady spot in the park. After lunch it was time for the entertainment. We went to the Manor pub where we had our faces painted, bought some cake and took part in the raffle. Sadly we didn't win any prizes.

It was time to return to school where some of the girls had a pampering session using the foot spa and face masks alongside relaxing music. The boys went for a swim and played in the adventure playground. Being inspired by the Singapore Grand Prix some also had scalectrics  competitions. There were lots of "oohs and ahs" as the boys took each other on in a volatile Nerf War in the sports hall. Miss Rudd opened up the cooking room and the young master chefs cooked some delicious chocolate chip cookies.

A very full weekend packed with fun and laughter. They will certainly look back on these prep school boarding years as the some of the best in their lives.
