Year 3 had great fun on their ‘cook out’ evening last week. Safety is of course important and the session started with the children creating posters focusing on how to keep safe around a fire. Then it was on to den building in the woods, cooking sausages and beans, eating bananas and chocolate baked over the fire and singing campfire songs.
The children certainly enjoyed the evening as you can see from the comments below...
'The cook out was amazing. We made dens in the forest, we cooked sausages and beans and we were puzzled in how to set up the fires. We had cooked chocolate and bananas. They were delicious.'
Hector D, Year 3
'For the cook out we sang songs with Mr Birch, built dens with Mr Capazolli and Mrs Downes and we cooked sausages and baked beans. We ate bananas with chocolate in. We had hot chocolate around the fire circle. Mr Birch showed us his guitar and did a few songs. They were really good fun. We did some really fun actions and the smoke kept getting in our way. Mrs Bartlett helped us to cook the baked beans and sausages.'
Ben L, Year 3
