Blackford - The Girls' Boarding House

Hazlegrove Stories

More stories

Blackford is the boarding house for all the boarding girls from Year 3 to Year 8.  The houseparents, Mr and Mrs Robertson, live in the Blackford House flat with their Golden Retriever called Isla and their cat, Humphrey.

Mr. Robertson teaches Design Technology in the Lower School and Outdoor Education as well as classroom support throughout the school. He enjoys playing hockey, ski-ing, building and flying kites, as well as all things to do with Scotland!

Mrs. Robertson teaches Maths and Latin throughout the school. She loves cooking, is a passionate reader and enjoys going for long walks with Isla as well as ski-ing and sewing on her vintage Singer sewing machine! (Not at the same time).

Mr. and Mrs. Robertson have many years of experience working in different prep schools, in varied boarding communities and had always dreamed of becoming Houseparents.

The girls have their own large common room for socialising, playing games and relaxing. This also opens up into a large garden that the girls love to use in the warmer months.
